Are credit scores regulated?

Credit references agencies are licensed and therefore policed by the Financial Conduct Authority.

If someone applies for a loan or credit card and they are turned down, then they can ask the lender to say which credit reference agency it used to base its decision on. In return for a £2 payment, these agencies must then send them a copy of their credit file and, if there are any inaccuracies, amend their file within 28 days of receiving your letter to them.
